Boko Haram: NAF Air Strike Kills Scores Of Terrorists In Meeting Room, Raze Building

Abuja – The Nigerian Air Force, NAF aircraft on air strike, have killed scores of Boko Haram terrorists in a meeting room and successfully razed down the structure.

An operational update released on Monday, by Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, (DOPRI), stated that the air interdiction was conducted on structures found with two hoisted Boko Haram Terrorists flags in Zanari.

Adesanya disclosed that Zanari was a known location with significant presence of Boko Haram terrorists, at the northern fringes of Borno State bordering Lake Chad.

“Quite a number of BHTs had earlier been spotted, from a NAF Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform, entering the buildings apparently for meetings.

“The F-7Ni and the Alpha Jet aircraft were detailed to attack the target. Overhead the location, the target was acquired and engaged by the 2 aircraft, in rapid succession.

“Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revealed that the targeted structures went up in flames, killing its occupants”, the NAF spokesman said.

He said the air strike was conducted by troops on Operation RUWAN WUTA, which objective was to further degrade the capability of the terrorists, thereby preventing them from regrouping to cause havoc for military’s surface forces.

Adesanya further stressed that the Operation was also aimed at softening the ground for the surface forces to subsequently move in and conduct mopping up operations.
